welcome to the world, baby roy
3 April 2010
The two-month silence on machen|machen? It wasn’t intentional. I changed jobs, I got sick, I went on holiday, I had a lot to think about, and before I knew it – April. During that time, I finished off a baby rug for Roy, the latest and greatest creation of dj bebe.
Roy’s rug started off as a slightly different project for his big sister Rita.
Rita’s rug was going to be a wavy patterned crochet number. Sadly, Rita arrived early and was too small to make it. I didn’t have the heart to finish her rug. So I decided to keep the same colour scheme and yarn, but make Roy something different.
The pattern is the Bliss Blanket by Melissa Goodale, the yarn is Cotton Freedom from Twileys of Stamford. I followed the pattern, but added applied icord along the edges to make it tidier and less stretchy.
on the needles
6 April 2008
I’ve become rather obsessed with knitting lately. It’s such a soothing activity after a hard day of work. Here’s what’s on my needles right now:

:: warm winter jumper, top-down construction in a wide rib stitch

:: honeycomb from Knitty Spring 2008 (Grignasco Champagne 25% silk 75% wool, chocolate brown)

:: Meghan’s Shalom cardigan (Jo Sharp Silk Road Ultra, in ‘Clinker’, which is a deep blue with a bit of grey in it). I’m so in love with the wool and the pattern that I’ll probably polish this on off this week.

:: A fitted 40′s style jacket from Vogue Knits

:: a tweedy 60′s style jacket from Vogue Knits
And you? What’s half finished, half done, just started at your place?
