I made a couple of other things for baby Roy as well as his rug.

This rather psychedelic owl comes from a softie kit designed by Saffron Craig.  This kit also includes an equally lairy koala.

These cute shoes are handmade, but not by me. They’re from here, and I bought them at the Freemantle Markets.

And of course, I had to make a bag for all this gifty goodness to go in.

For all those random thoughts and links that don’t quite make a blog post (and I have many of them, oh yes), I’ve created a Twitter account for machen|machen.

Just click on over this-a-way and join in.

The two-month silence on machen|machen?  It wasn’t intentional.  I changed jobs, I got sick, I went on holiday, I had a lot to think about, and before I knew it – April.  During that time, I finished off a baby rug for Roy, the latest and greatest creation of dj bebe.

:: Roy’s rug

Roy’s rug started off as a slightly different project for his big sister Rita.

:: Rita’s rug

Rita’s rug was going to be a wavy patterned crochet number. Sadly, Rita arrived early and was too small to make it. I didn’t have the heart to finish her rug.  So I decided to keep the same colour scheme and yarn, but make Roy something different.

The pattern is the Bliss Blanket by Melissa Goodale, the yarn is Cotton Freedom from Twileys of Stamford. I followed the pattern, but added applied icord along the edges to make it tidier and less stretchy.
